The Scion Conspiracy is officially available everywhere!
As of today, March 30, 2026, my debut novel has officially gone wide! For the uninitiated, this means that I am not renewing my contract with KDP Select and that my ebook will be available for purchase on all platforms. Some of these platforms include Kobo and Kobo Plus, Google Books, Apple books, Barnes & Noble, etc.
In discussing this transition with others, the big question people have for me is why? Why give up the revenue from KDP Unlimited reads to make my book available on other platforms? There are many business related reasons, such as not being wholly reliant on a single retailer and some of Amazon’s questionable practices, but the answer is actually simple; I want my book to be available to widest possible audience. Amazon is a large marketplace, and of course my books will always be available there, but I do not want to limit my audience to a single option. Ebooks are the most accessible option for many readers, with their combination of affordability, portability, adaptable interface and global availability. When I became an indie author, I always knew I wanted to prioritize the story and the readers over everything else. So, when my KDP contract ended, making the decision to make my story as widely available as possible was an easy one for me.
