Hosting the Pen and Dragon Podcast
So some of the biggest and most unexpected news from in recent memory, I am officially starting a new podcast! Recently, I was approached by two of my fellow indie authors, namely Timothy Robare and Isaac Anderson, about being a co-host on the new Pen and Dragon podcast. While I had vague inklings of starting to do video content at some point in the future, I had put it off as something I would get to “eventually”. But when the opportunity to do a podcast with two awesome authors who I already knew and got along well with came along I couldn’t turn it down. So now it seems like I will be adding podcaster to my long and eclectic list of titles.
So now onto the real question, what is Pen and Dragon? Well this project is brand new and I’m sure it will evolve given time, but we envision it as a show focused on hot topics, pop culture and news from the writing world. For the uninitiated, the writing space, especially the indie community, is full of interesting people and happenings, and we hope to discuss those in an informal weekly meetup and have some fun while doing it. If the conversations the three of us hosts have had behind the scenes are any indication, the show is shaping up to be a bit off the beaten path, a tad irreverent and a whole barrel of good times.
If you’re interested in tuning in, check out the show on YouTube where it will stream on Monday nights at 9pm. It will be also be available on most other podcast streaming apps including Spotify and Apple Podcasts. The first episode aired on Monday 4/19/2026, where my co-hosts discussed the recent rumors of George RR Martin’s manuscript leak, the rise of Hopecore in SciFi and the current situation with Draft2Digital’s rising fees for indie authors. They also interviewed a sentient orange.
