Making New Friends Everywhere I go
When I first started this long and winding journey of being an indie author, I knew no one and next to nothing about the bookish space online. Seeking direction, I stumbled into Bookstagram and Booktube and the wasteland formerly known as Twitter like a lost traveler, confused and hoping to find some sense of what I was supposed to be doing. Fortunately, the bookverse is a kindly place and people have been more than welcoming, willing to take the time to help me along my path and find the way. Now, having recently hit pretty crazy numbers on social media, made several hundred sales, started a podcast, and made lots friends and connections along the way, I can proudly say I am part of the bookish community. And joining FanFi Addict is, to me, the next best step I can take on that journey.
So, let’s back up for a second; for those who don’t know, what it is FanFi Addict? In the simplest possible terms, FanFi is a book blog. They do book reviews, interviews, and articles, as well as other book and writing related content. They also host conventions as well as a popular podcast and YouTube Channel. But the truth is, FanFi is far more than that. It is a collective of great people who are doing great work in the book space. In my short time as an indie author, I have seen the members of FanFi Addict showing up again and again to help promote hardworking authors, build up the community, and promote positivity and . I have been consistently impressed with them, with the quality of work they put out and the standards they hold to, so I am thrilled to be able to say I am joining their ranks.
So what will I be doing with FanFi Addict? Well, if you’ve been following me for a while you might have some idea already; I am going to be a reviewer! Both the indie and traditionally published SFF reviews I have been posting here are will now be hosted on FanFiAddict.com. Don’t worry, for fans of my reviews I will still be posting the quick reviews here and to social media, so you will get notified of them when I get around to writing them. But from now on, the full reviews will be on their site. I hope by doing this, I’ll be pushing my reviews out to a wider audience and helping promote my fellow indie authors as much as I can.
